Which soundtrack of Fiddler on the Roof is the best?
I got the original broadway one with Zero Mostel, but I have to say I’m very disappointed in it. It’s obviously not a studio recording, as the other voices are audibly very far away from the mic. Also, I just don’t think it sounds that great. Is there another version that is better?
There is a new anniversary edition of the original broadway cast recording. It has great sound (I think they remastered the original). It also has some bonus tracks with one of the original writers singing a few songs and telling some humorous stories about the production and writing process. He sings two songs that were cut from the production that are great. I have both the original and the new one, and I have to say that I prefer the anniversary edition the best.
