Poster Wonderful Town
Is it possible for a brand new camcorder to be worth less than £20?
There is a shop opening in a town not too far from me that is selling a camcorder (alternatively a DVD player or Freeview Box) for one pound to any of their first two hundred customers. I’ve already got a very old VHS-C camcorder, but I don’t use it because it’s too inconvinient. What I really want is a digital one, and the one shown in the poster is a Mini-DV model, though the disclaimer underneath saying that it may not be the item shown concerns me slightly. If I do go there and find the camcorder isn’t one I’m happy with, would you imagine there’s any possible way it could be worth less than £20? I suppose I could always sell it on eBay if it’s not suitable, but I was wondering what sort of thing I should expect. Obviously it would be a mistake to expect something wonderful, but I’m still hoping it is the sort of thing I’d be interested in.
When a 99p shop opened near me they were giving away a portable TV or a DVD player to the 1st 100 customers. I refused to queue with my friend in the freezing overnight weather so she gloating got her TV and DVD player (made her boyfriend queue with her and left the young ‘uns indoors on their own!). I have no actual idea if they were good or not as she never would have said but it was a good gimmick and the talking point of the area for days afterwards! If you decide to get one simply test it and see if it works. Then you can decide to keep it or flog it on ebay as an unwanted early xmas gift!!!!!
