my parents won’t let me go to warped tour? how can i?

convince them to let me! i mean im 14, i act like im 17 and id go with my really mature 19 year old sister. SO MANY of my favorite bands are going to be there and they won’t let me! my dad is like “you need to chill with the concerts” i went to one in december with my friend torey, and my mom is like “no” and my stepdad agrees with my mom! my sister says she has no problem taking me! what can i do to convince them to let me go to warped tour? how can they make me miss out on seeing Anarbor, Alesana, attack! attack!, bring me to the horizon, eyes set to kill, haste the day, hey monday, hot chelle rae, mayday parade, motion city soundtrack, nevershoutnever!, reel big fish, sum 41, the all american rejects, and we the kings? (i love metal and the non metal bands are okay too) i mean they’re being really unfair and controlling! they always do this! how can i convince them to let me go?

YOU will continue to think you’re mature enough to do what you want, but the fact is- you’re still dependent on your parents for food, shelter, and other things. Until you’re 18, what your parents say is what you’ll live by. And honestly, you still have to compromise and listen to your parents after that if you’re living with them. If they tell you that you cannot go to the warped tour, this being your mother, father, AND stepfather– then you cannot go.

The fact that your sister would take you means nothing– your parents know your sister, and obviously her presence is not enough for them to allow you to go. You’re 14, for God’s sake… you’ve got a lot more time for concerts- when you’re older, and don’t need your parents permission to go.

Sorry, girl. Your parents aren’t being unfair, they’re being your parents.
