Anne Rice Fans, how do you feel about the show?
Lestat, bases on Anne Rice’s books Lestat and Interview withthe vampire is starting on broadway this month. Songs are written by Elton John.
How do you think its gonna be?
It all depends on how true they hold to the actual book. For example, the movie version of Interview worked well because they pretty much stuck to the book, even though they crippled themselves on much possibility of making Lestat into a movie (for example, Claudia didn’t cut her hair – Gabrielle did in The Vampire Lestat). Queen of the Damned wasn’t a very good movie because they took too many liberties with the script. Too much was left out that could have been included and helped the movie immensely. If the same is done with the Broadway production of Interview, true Rice fans will be sadly disappointed.
