Drive Theater Junction
NJ Transit to Philadelphia, PA?
I’m trying to plan a trip to the Trocadero Theatre in May to see Streetlight Manifesto. I want to take the train (I live in NJ so it would be NJ transit) into Philly because there’s no way I’m driving from Philly back home after a concert. The closest stations to me are Trenton or Princeton/Princeton Junction. When I looked at njtransit.com the easiest way I could find was taking the train from Trenton to Camden then to Philly. The ride back would be a bus ride from Philly to Camden, then train back to Trenton.
I don’t mind doing all that, I just want to know if there is an easier way. I’ve taken NJ transit a bunch of times, but this is my first time planning the trip. So if you know of another way, I’d definitely appreciate the help!! Thanks in advance
Best way to get to there cheapest way by taking RiverLine which cost $1.35 one way and must be validated upon boarding.
When you arrive at Walter Rand Transportation Center, throw your used one or keep as souvenir and buy same ticket one-way back to Trenton, but do not validaded yet.
After that, you buy $1.15 one-way Card on PATCO to any Philly.
When you put in card will come back to station side and you need to have that to exit at last stop, 15th-16th Streets.
You may also take SEPTA’s R-7 which cost $8 one way to anywhere along SEPTA R-7 route, however you must purchase your ticket at New Jersey Transit Ticket Window because SEPTA Regional Rail Vending Machine is out of service there.
On your return trip, if you decided on bus, take Market-Frankfort line which is $2 from 15th-5th Sts or walk to 6th/Race Sts, first stop for any NJT Buses going to Cadman-Walter Rand Transportation Center.
Since there are no bus stops, bus stop is located on NW corner of 6th & Race Sts by Franklin Square Park.
New Jersey Transit Buses cross beautiful Delaware River via Benjamin Franklin Bridge to Walter Rand Transportation Center where you could use ticket that unvalidated and make sure to validated the before train arrives.
Fare on NJT Buses are based on fare zone.
According to customer service, fare is $2.25. Check the Bus Fare Zone Chart at sources below.
Call at toll free hotline (1) 800-772-2222 and wait until voice message said, “Bus Schedule & Static Info” and ask how much is one way ride from 6th/Race Sts to Walter Rand Transportation Center and ask what zones they’re in and they would most likely to help you
