What is the developing process for 35mm film from a movie?
How does that work? Does the developing company transfer everything digitally onto a dvd or hard drive? I’m clueless and shouldn’t be.
They have developing machines. The leader of the exposed film is threaded (in total darkness, of course) into the front end, and dry negatives (or prints) come off the back. These days most film is digitized for editing, insertion of special effects, color adjustments, etc., then digitally printed back onto film for distribution. Most theaters are not yet equipped to display digital movies.
