Cicely Courtneidge Jack
In regard to the comedy “On The Buses” Why did Cicely Courtniedge only play the role of Mum for Series 1?

From Series 2 onwards til series 7 or 8 however long it went on for until 1973 (1969 – 1973 apparently)
Doris Hare then took over the role (part) of Stan and Olive Butler’s Mum.
Cicely Courtneidge was a Mum that controlled and nagged much more if not more grouchy and was more of a typical old bag compared to the Mum played by Doris Hare.
Also Did Betty Hare (Aunt Maud) appear in more than one episode? Who did Jack the conductor hang out with in the last series when Stan moved to the English Midlands to work in a bus factory?
I’m curious

No matter how many questions I post or read on here there is always one, every now and again, that makes me think: “Why, why, why do you need to know that?” LOL

I have no idea but if it’s any consolation my hubby says I look like Olive when I wear my glasses.
