Fancy A Shopping Trip To New York?

There are plenty of great reasons why a long weekend in New York would fit the bill. You can walk in Central Park, look out from the 102nd floor of the Empire State Building and wander round Times Square.

There is arguably no better activity to get stuck into than shopping and with lots of big name stores to visit you should make sure you have plenty of available space on that credit card!

One of the most famous stores you will see is Bloomingdale’s. There are actually several stores in the New York area, but the most famous one can be found on 59th Street and Lexington Avenue. You will find all kinds of ladies’ and men’s clothing and accessories there, so be prepared to browse for a while.

Macy’s is another big name store that New York is famous for. Similarly to Bloomingdale’s it has plenty of clothing to suit everyone in the family, as well as a wide range of items for your home. Macy’s isn’t too far from Broadway either, so perhaps you can take in a show afterwards.

If you have expensive tastes and you fancy taking an item or two of jewellery home with you, there can be no better place to go than Tiffany’s. This is on 5th Avenue, and while many of their items are rather expensive, you will get nothing but the best quality and design from all of their pieces. If you find it a little expensive for your tastes, it’s always good for window shopping!

Just along the road from Tiffany’s you will find another unmissable store – FAO Schwarz. This is a toy store that really has to be seen to be believed. It’s filled with virtually every kind of toy you could think of, so if you’re looking for something to take home for your nieces, nephews or grandkids, you should find plenty of inspiration here.

As you can see, New York has big stores for everyone. No matter whether you want the latest fashions, toys for the kids or something with a designer name, you’ll find it somewhere in the city.

If designer names are what you are looking for, Saks might be able to help. You’ll find plenty of famous name designers here including Ralph Lauren and Yves Saint Laurent, so be sure to explore the many stunning items they have on display.

Finally, it pays to book into one of the many New York hotels that are available close to the stores you want to visit. It will mean you have a shorter journey back to your hotel room when you are laden down with all that shopping!
