Broadway Bedroom themed Help?
Okay so i am a guy and i love the theater. I’m not gay and i would like to make my room a broadway or show buissness room. I think red black and gold and silver are classic theater colors and i’m 13. I don’t want it SO dark its like a cave but a nice calm warm color so its dark if the lights are out but make it BRIGHT if there is sunlight. I like playing the saxaphone, I have playbills and posters i can hang but i need more. I really like broadway themed stuff. Any ideas? Thanks

. Here’s what I would do on a cheap budget.
Curtains: I would get a black and white check patterned curtain, with red curtain loops.
Saxophone: Then I would buy one/two black foamboards for 2 bucks, either leave them painted on, or just cut them in squares and arrange them in geometric patterns on the wall that you see right when you enter the room – or in a prominent wall of the room. Then I would hang the saxophone with the boards as the background. Somewhat like this – http://www.housetohome.co.uk/imageBank/cache/t/tile – I think I would just hang two square pieces of black foamboards by a couple of thumtacks.

Bed: For the bed, I would invest in a beautiful silver comforter, with check bed skirts to match the curtains, good quality black/white bed sheets. Perhaps you can get a silver-red-black patterned pillows and throw pillows. Mix in solids with patterns.
Lights: Please don’t get fluroscent lights. Rather invest in a nice incadescent lamp. If you have sidetables in black (they are quite cheap from Walmart) , this is a good time to go to a flea market to get broadway themed lamps. If not that, then a nice red chinese lamp will also work.
Visit department stores’ furniture department and get inspired! Usually, you like something and you make your room work for it. I have a black-white-grey theme to my room punctuated with orange, but I wouldn’t have come across that idea if I didn’t find a 6 feet x 6 feet painting to go on a wall. lol. That wall put the rest of the ideas to my head.
